Driven to Make a Difference

I was born and initially raised in Monrovia, Liberia, located on the Atlantic coast of West Africa. I was raised in a family with nine siblings. I lost two of my brothers and my father during the civil wars that took place on and off for almost 14 years from 1990 – 2003. My family and I suffered a lot during the wars. We walked day and night without a destination, hiding in forests for shelter. We wailed when we saw dead bodies in the forest and innocent people being killed.
