Something I wish Everyone Knew Daily Work’s mission is to provide mentoring and employment services so job seekers can thrive. Through our mission, we are doing our part to create a community where everyone can work, grow, and contribute. But that’s not the whole story. How do you make your voice heard? Social Work Day at the Capitol took place Monday, April 8, and all four Daily Work interns participated. By having Social Work Day at the Capitol, social workers are able to represent their career and advocate for the services that will benefit the people that they work with. A large number of social work students attend the event and meet with legislators to discuss topics like mental health services in schools and community programs for older adults. 25+ Students Interested in Internships with Daily Work It may seem hard to believe, but Daily Work will likely select all of its Fall 2019 interns by the end of April. The process for attracting students is very competitive; more than 80 social service agencies attended the “Field Fair” on the University of Minnesota Campus to share information about internship opportunities for students. The “field fair” is essentially a mini-trade show for Master of Social Work students from the University of Minnesota (UMN) and Augsburg University to learn about internship (field) opportunities.
