Mari Jo Long
Mari Jo leads a team of Youth Program Coordinators who plan and facilitate youth programs in North and South Minneapolis. She works with staff to guide service delivery, data collection, budget, and coordination with internal and community partners. With the team, she evaluates critical program components and uses the data to continually improve programs. Also, Mari Jo actively participates in cross sector collective impact initiatives to address the achievement gap.
Dave worked for the DuPont and 3M Companies for a combined total of 31 years; most of his experience involved chemical and drug safety, and pharmaceutical R&D. He has extensive organization and project management experience. Dave is a graduate of St. Olaf College (BA) and the University of Wisconsin - Madison (PhD). He was chair of the Daily Work Board of Directors most of the time from when it became a nonprofit in 2006 until 2016; he joined the board again in 2020. Dave lives with wife in Mendota Heights, MN.
Anandhi immigrated in 2004 to the United States from India. She has worked in the financial industry for the past 25 years in several capacities, from an adjuster in Property and Casualty Insurance to a project manager with an Investment company. Currently, she works as a Business Technology Analyst in the Foreign Exchange Department in US Bank. She has an extensive software background and has been an analyst for many years. Anandhi completed two Master degrees, first in India and most recently, she completed her MBA at University of St. Thomas. Anandhi is a prolific volunteer and her service includes Accountability Minnesota, Feed my Starving Children, Second Harvest Heartland, St. Therese Nursing Home in Woodbury, and other opportunities within US Bank. She is a Board Member of a Business Resource Group within US Bank and an active DEI champion. Anandhi lives with her husband and two kids in Woodbury."
Marbel currently works as a Social worker for the crisis response unit of Washington County. She has over 9 years of experience in mental health and in different social work domains including child protection, case management, homelessness, adult protection, emergency social services, and adult and child mental health case management. Marbel earned her Bachelor's degree in social work (BSW) from Metropolitan State University and her Master's degree in social work (MSW) from the University of Minnesota. She is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) currently on route to being a Licensed, Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). Marbel completed her senior year case management internship at Daily Work. As an immigrant herself, she identified closely with the challenges faced by Daily Work job seekers, resulting in her passion for Daily Work's mission.
Abera immigrated from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in 2011. He studied accounting for two years at Addis Ababa University College of commerce. He is a father of three and lives with his wife and kids in Saint Paul, MN. Abera currently works at Seagate, one of the top technology leading companies in the country as a machine operator and also works part-time at the MSP airport as a customer service agent. He likes working with people and the community. Abera has organized his fellow airport workers to form a labor union and helped to change the state minimum wage at the airport as well. In his spare time Abera likes to admire nature and take walks through forests.
Matt has been consulting with qualified retirement plans since 2004 and currently works for SevenHills Cleveland Benefit Partners as a CEFEX Certified Retirement Plan Consultant. Prior to joining SevenHills Cleveland, he was a Retirement Plan Consultant for Securian Financial Group covering the Midwest and Mountain regions. Matt received his Finance and Economics degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Originally from Thief River Falls MN, he currently lives in Mendota Heights with his wife and young son.
