Mary Daye
Case Management Intern

Mary is a University of Minnesota Social work student with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health. She is originally from Youngstown, Ohio but calls Minnesota home. Her short term goals include making each person she encounters feel seen, heard and valued for who they are. Long term, Mary would like to explore several social work paths such as the non-profit realm, community organizing, and practicing therapy in University settings while specializing her practice from the lens of a black woman for black individuals. She would like to create her own non-profit one day to work hands on with the community. She enjoys eating junk food while watching movies with her husband, writing, journaling, and being a good friend and support for her loved ones.


Vince DiGiorno

Vince was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Vince graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1986. While he was a student he spent a year living and studying architecture in Rome, Italy. In 1998, he earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. Vince is an architect. He focusses on building code analysis and specifications writing. Vince is passionate about contributing to Daily Work’s vision that all people deserve an opportunity to support and sustain themselves through meaningful work. The economy must serve people and workers have the right to productive work and to decent and fair wages. He likes to share a meal with family and friends and he does it as many times a week as he can. He also thoroughly enjoys riding his bike all over town 25 to 50 miles at a time.

Mai Herr
Case Management Intern (651) 204-3043

Mai was born and raised in Laos. She moved to Thailand as a refugee in 2004 and came to the United States in December 2010. She has never attended school in Laos but learned Thai in a Thai refugee camp. She was also learning some basic English before she came to the U.S. She speaks three languages which are Hmong, Thai, English and some Lao. She currently lives in Saint Paul MN, and studies Social Work at the Metropolitan State University. Mai’s hobbies are cooking, singing and spending time with her family. Mai is looking forward to her summer and fall internship at Daily Work and hopes that she will learn a lot.

Stuart Kaufman
Case Management Volunteer

Stuart is joining Daily-work to continue his community volunteering through Interfaith Action’s Opportunity St. Paul program. Stuart earned a BA at Johns Hopkins University and an MD degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. After retiring in 2016 after 45 years of Family Medicine and Geriatrics, he wished to contribute by working with English language learners and immigrant children, to honor the memory of his mother, who taught third grade and then volunteered with Adult English learners. Stuart enjoys reading, listening to many types of music, visiting with his adult children (2) and grandchildren (5) who live in Seattle and in Chicago. He is a avid car enthusiast since age 3; when he could identify every car on the road! He is excited to start his role as a Case Manager.

Pangnhia Khang

Pangnhia attends the University of Wisconsin River Falls and is majoring in Social Work. She was born and raised in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin and now resides in Saint Paul, Minnesota. After graduation, her plan is to start her own business. Preferably a Family Options services agency to help improve a person’s living skills such as, self-care, communication or community living. Pangnhia is currently a part-time Child Development Teacher and her favorite hobbies are singing, fishing, snowboarding, playing the guitar, and traveling. Pangnhia has been given the opportunity to intern with Daily Work and she is excited to use her skills to help others, as well as develop new skills.


Linda Lopez

Linda López holds a B.A. in psychology and sociology from New Mexico State University and an M.S. in counseling psychology from Central Washington University. She worked as a school counselor in the Yakima, Washington Public Schools and was district coordinator of the school district K-12 counseling program. She has taught classes to high school students in topics such as study skills, career and college planning, personal finance, employment skills such as writing resumes and interviewing. She has been a speaker at several home school conferences and support groups. Linda has her own consulting business assisting home educating (home school) families with high school and college planning and presents workshops for home educating parents on the subjects of creating transcripts, developing four-year plans for high school, preparing for college, and homeschooling through high school.

Jana Martin

Jana Martin joins Daily Work as a volunteer after spending ten years as teacher in Wisconsin and Connecticut followed by twenty-five years as a corporate tax accountant in Minnesota. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her accounting certification from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Jana has enjoyed volunteering as a literacy teacher for adults throughout her working career and now is looking forward to expanding that volunteering to Daily Work.

Laura Perri

Laura is a current social work student at St. Catherine University. After she graduates, she hopes to work further in case management and branch out to jobs involved in the criminal justice system or healthcare system. She is passionate about social justice issues such as racism, poverty, unemployment, criminal justice, and access to health services. She spends her time hanging out with friends, coloring, cooking, and playing video games. Laura is excited to start interning at Daily Work and to have the opportunity to work with job seekers and help them find work and develop new skills!


Lee Olafson

Lee is currently volunteering at Daily Work as a web design/social media communications manager designing graphics and web media while helping with the routine maintenance of the Daily Work website to gain work experience in his career field. Ultimately, Lee plans to utilize his passion for art and design and his experiences at Daily Work to start up his own concept art and web graphic design business catering to small start-up and non-profit businesses helping with establishing their identity branding, online marketing and promotional needs.

Micalah Sagnes

Micalah is excited to be at Daily Work as a Case Management Intern while pursuing her Master of Social Work at the University of Minnesota. Micalah is from the Twin Cities area and currently resides in Minneapolis. Micalah passionately fills her time as an awake overnight mental health worker, loving friend, avid reader, and auntie to her beautiful nieces. In the past, Micalah has worked in over three St. Paul public schools assisting middle schoolers with a variety of academic goals, coached girls volleyball, and collaborated with university faculty on climate change research. In the future, Micalah would like to combine her undergraduate political science degree, MSW, and prior experience in a community-based practice.


Mimi Yamamoto

Mimi is an MSW student at the University of Minnesota. Previously, she graduated from the University of Minnesota Morris with a B.A. in Psychology in 2019 where she discovered her passion for anti-racism and advocacy. As a second generation immigrant, she is bilingual in English and Japanese. Eventually, she hopes to utilize her bilingual background to become a Social Worker that addresses systemic racism and helps marginalized populations in a holistic manner. Mimi has lived in Saint Paul for all of her life, and is looking forward to learning a lot at Daily Work.
