Julie is a nonprofit executive with more than 15 year's experience in all aspects of nonprofit management, with significant expertise in budget development and management, fundraising and event planning, and overall nonprofit administration. Previously she has served as a development director, community affairs manager, and community organizer for a variety of nonprofit organizations including education, government, and other small nonprofits (budgets less than $1 million). Julie attended the University of Minnesota and majored in Political Science.
Becky Montgomery, MSW, LICSW
Social Work Internship Field Instructor
Becky is retired from Ramsey County Community Human Services, where she worked as a Planner. She is a licensed, clinical social worker with more than 20 years' experience supervising master and bachelor social work interns. She joins Daily Work as a volunteer, serving as a field instructor and assisting with other administrative and program development tasks. Becky received her master's degree in social work from Washington University in Saint Louis, MO.

Teiana is coming back to Daily Work after having interned as a case manager in the summer of 2018. She received her BA in Race & Ethnic Studies and Religion, along with a concentration in Education at St. Olaf College. Teiana spent much of her undergrad working and volunteering in classrooms with youth of all ages and backgrounds. She comes to Daily Work after working as a foreign language English teacher at an elementary school in Taiwan in 2019.
Judy Sharken Simon

Judy is responsible for developing effective systems and fostering an organizational culture that optimizes the unique skills of the small team of interns and volunteers. Her role includes general office administration, financial management, volunteer management, and being a thought partner on organizational challenges. Judy has more than 25 years’ experience working for and consulting with nonprofits. As the Planning Director at the St. Paul Jewish Federation she was responsible for ensuring the Federation's vision of building a vibrant, cohesive, and inclusive Jewish community. She has also held roles at the Minneapolis Jewish Federation as part of the Community Impact team, the Manager of Board Governance at MAP for Nonprofits, and a Nonprofit Management Consultant with the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation. Judy is the author of “The Nonprofit Field Guide to Conducting Successful Focus Groups” as well as “The Five Life Stages of the Nonprofit Organizations”. Judy has worked as project manager for a county government human services department and as a mentorship coordinator in human resource development for 3M Corporation in Austin, Texas. Judy holds an MA in Organization Development and is a BoardSource Certified Governance Trainer. Outside of work, Judy enjoys her two young adult daughters, cross-country skiing in the winter, and water skiing in the summer.

Carey Winkler has been a social work educator for 12 years. Prior to her work in higher education, she was in practice and worked with adults, adolescents, and young children in addition to serving as a program director. Carey is passionate about the role of supervision in developing and supporting students and early-career professionals.
