Daily Work does more than help people find jobs.
By Julie Hoff, Executive Director
Our mission is to help people prepare for, find and keep work that gives them the stability needed to support themselves and their families, free from financial crisis and the pain of poverty. But financial crisis and poverty…and the fallout as a result of them, are the very things that interfere with our job seeker’s ability to find and keep a job.
That’s why we help job seekers find and apply for work, but we also provide referrals and advocacy to help them address other areas of need including: resources for food, clothing, shelter, transportation, English language learning, computer skill building, health concerns, and more.
At Daily Work, we have a holistic approach to helping job seekers. This year we have helped people get drivers’ licenses, purchase cars, get to and from critical appointments, find food shelves, get interview clothes, find housing, get furniture and household goods, go back to school, and of course, get a resume, apply for jobs, and gain employment. We helped Stephen, pictured above, find two jobs, obtain work clothes, and pay for transportation to and from Daily Work, interviews, and work.
On top of all that, we provide the help, support and encouragement that is missing for many of our job seekers. “Daily Work helps people who are struggling. They gave me the encouragement I needed,” Stephen said.
We did all these things, for more than 200 job seekers, on a budget of just $150,000.
None of what we have done this year would be possible without your support. Thank you for your support in the past. Thank you for your support in the future. You may think Daily Work is only about jobs, but as you can see, finding a job requires much more than just a resume and a cover letter.
Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution before December 31. In November, we needed to raise $40,000 to fill our operating gap. We have just $10,000 to go! Your support has an immediate impact on our job seekers…because many of them don’t have a Mom or Dad, brother or sister, or friend who is able to give advice or help them out. For many job seekers, Daily Work plays that role in their lives. Your support makes that possible for them.

Thank you and Happy Holidays to you,
