Melese is on the move!

Client picMelese was struggling in a low-paying job at the airport when a friend told him about Daily Work. “I needed help with a resume and a cover letter,” Melese said. “As someone new to America, it was hard to find a job on my own,” he said.

Since first coming to Daily Work in June 2015, Melese has secured three different jobs with Daily Work’s help. “Melese is really committed to finding a ‘good’ job with benefits and a living wage,” said Brit Rademacher, case manager at Daily Work. “With each job, he gets closer to what he needs to have a good life, by getting more hours or more pay,” Rademacher said.

Currently, Melese has a full-time job with ABM Industries that pays nearly $15 per hour and has full benefits. But it is still not quite enough. Melese also works a second, part-time job.

“Melese knows that Daily Work will continue to be a resource for him as he continues to build his resume and his skills,” Rademacher said. He has expressed interest in getting additional training to prepare him for a career that will enable him to work one good job, instead of multiple jobs.

“My case manager is so helpful and kind,” Melese said. “She helped me create a resume and get the skills to apply for jobs. I am so grateful for everything from Daily Work.”
