Seeing Potential. Building Prosperity.
By Jacob Sobiech, Jacob Richardson, Nathan Anondson, and Angelique Kellogg, Inver Hills Community College Students
“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~ Leo Buscaglia
Every day at Daily Work we see and celebrate the strength and resilience of people and nurture their capacity for success. We see their potential, remind them of their strengths, and help them get to where they want to go in life.
Daily Work’s mission is to guide and mentor people who need employment assistance. We provide one-to-one employment and case management services that turn at-risk job seekers into valued employees who earn a living wage and have personal and professional growth opportunities.
We work with job seekers to help them create prosperity for themselves and their families. We provide services to help with job identification and applications, transportation, and anything else needed to help people achieve their employment goals. Together, we are building a better future for each person, family, and ultimately, our whole community.
This year Daily Work has a new partner of high potential future job seekers. For the first time ever, Daily Work is partnering with a small group communication class from Inver Hills Community College.
As students, we are excited to be getting hands-on experience at working with a nonprofit organization by helping to organize the Daily Work Luncheon. We are learning valuable skills like how to work with people, how to meet deadlines and how to figure out how to do things we’ve never done before… the same things Daily Work helps job seekers with every day!.
This year marks the 6th Annual Luncheon fundraiser for Daily Work. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to learn valuable skills through real experience and to serve the community in which we work, live, and study. We look forward to meeting you at the luncheon!
