Maryellen retired in 2020 after working 35+ years in the field of occupational safety and health in a variety of settings; including OSHA, consulting, and private industry. In addition to utilizing her technical skills, many of those years were dedicated to conducting training for management and labor. She also worked as the volunteer coordinator for a homeless shelter. Maryellen is a graduate of Colorado State University (BS) and University of Minnesota (MPH). She has been involved with Daily Work since it began, serving in a variety of capacities (Steering Committee Chair, Secretary and Board member). After leaving the board in December 2015, Maryellen still volunteers with maintaining the database and sending thank you letters to all the people who support Daily Work. In her free time she volunteers for other non-profits and loves traveling, birdwatching and bicycling.
